Nano-structures are a new form of matter with potential applications in electronics, catalysis and sensing. This photograph shows linear arrays of self-organized barium chromate rectangular nano-crystals. Simple surfactants and block copolymers are used to guide the self-assembly process to produce advanced thin films and colloidal superstructures.
