Description:

Current research has produced a binary phase of layered nanotubes, where Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes are sheathed by tungsten disulfide (WS₂).  The number of WS₂ layers can be controlled through the degree of deposition of the tungsten oxide precursor. Researchers have produced the first single-walled WS₂ nanotube, which, despite being a coat, can be used to verify the LDOS theory and conduct I-V measurements for single-walled WS₂ nanotubes.  These WS₂ coated nanotubes can even form the first WS₂ cones.
