Description:

Researcher examined the cause of color in rose quartz. After studying samples from localities throught the world, they found that the color comes from pervasive, rose-colored nanofibers of another phase in the quartz. . Their width varied from 100 to 500 nanometers. On the basis of optical absorption spectra of the fibers and the initial rose quartz, it was concluded that these nanofibrous inclusions are the cause of coloration of massive rose quartz worldwide.
