The ability to selectively tune defects, electronic states, and surface chemistry has motivated the development of a variety of methods to fabricate metallic, inorganic, and polymeric nanoparticles. Nanoparticles and their properties can be extremely useful in the development and improvement of conducting polymers, which play an important role in the electronics industry in helping connect components together. Conducting polymers and epoxies may also be important for use as connections to other "nano" devices in general.
