Imaged above are anisotropic waves of chemical reactions propagating on a 2D array of Belousov-Zhabotinsky oscillators.  In this study, a new technique was developed to prepare a two-dimensional array of a large number of coupled chemical oscillators to study the dynamics of large-scale coupled-oscillator systems.  The sized of the dots and the distances among dots can be controlled with 20um precision.  The catalyst dots are arranged in triangular and square lattices to study the chemical waves propagating through the gaps among the dots.
